National Fuel Price Adjustment Announced: Temporary Measures Take Effect at Midnight

Oil prices are set to shift once again, with authorities implementing a temporary adjustment mechanism tonight at 24:00.

Since domestic refined oil product prices were last adjusted on August 28, escalating US-Iranian conflicts have driven international crude oil prices sharply higher. This surge has been particularly pronounced in the Middle East, where crude prices have once again exhibited abnormal increases.

To mitigate the impact of rising international oil prices on the domestic market and ensure stable economic operations and social welfare, temporary control measures are being applied to domestic refined oil product prices. These measures are being enacted within the framework of the existing pricing mechanism.

Under the current price calculation system, gasoline and diesel (standard grade) prices were set to increase by 435 yuan and 420 yuan per tonne, respectively, on September 11. Following the adjustment measures, the actual increases will be limited to 260 yuan and 250 yuan per tonne, respectively.

The National Development and Reform Commission has instructed refined oil production and sales enterprises to fully coordinate production and transportation efforts, ensuring stable market supply. Additionally, relevant authorities will intensify market supervision and inspection, strictly penalizing any illegal or non-compliant activities—such as failing to adhere to national pricing policies—to safeguard market order and protect consumer interests.
