SMIC Marginally Expands Share Base with Option Exercise and STAR Market Incentive Grant

Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) disclosed a modest increase in its issued share capital following two equity incentive events completed on 4 September 2026.

SMIC’s Hong Kong-listed ordinary share count rose by 1,000 shares under the company’s 2014 Stock Option Plan, executed at HKD 22.41 per share. The transaction lifted the Hong Kong register to 6.01 billion shares, an immaterial 0.00001% increase from 31 August 2026.

On the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STAR Market, SMIC issued 1.03 million A-shares at RMB 20 each pursuant to the fourth attribution of the reserved grant under its 2021 Restricted Share Incentive Scheme. This expanded the STAR Market share base by 0.012% to 2.55 billion shares.

Combined, the two issuances added 1.03 million shares, taking SMIC’s total outstanding shares across both exchanges to 8.56 billion, up approximately 0.01% from the prior balance.

No share repurchases or treasury-share sales were reported during the period, and the company confirmed full compliance with Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing rules and other applicable regulations.
