On September 3, Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates experienced a broad decline across most tenors, according to market data. The one-month HIBOR, which is closely tied to mortgage lending rates, settled at 2.84339%, marking a decrease of 1.917 basis points.
The three-month rate, which serves as a key indicator of bank funding costs, edged up slightly by 0.167 basis points to reach 3.02988%. Meanwhile, the overnight rate saw the most significant drop, falling by 55.535 basis points to 2.38679%.
Looking at shorter-term maturities, the one-week rate declined by 28.744 basis points to 2.63792%, while the two-week rate slipped 15.334 basis points to 2.67345%. The two-month rate also moved lower, shedding 0.732 basis points to finish at 2.94268%.
On the longer end of the curve, the six-month rate dipped marginally by 0.072 basis points to 3.21327%, whereas the one-year rate bucked the downward trend by climbing 3.399 basis points to 3.56423%.
