The Shanghai Stock Exchange, in collaboration with Harvest Fund, wrapped up its ETF wealth management base outreach series in Chongqing from September 3 to 4. This multi-faceted event featured two educational sessions on ETF investing tailored for banking channels, a strategy meeting for institutional clients including securities firms and asset managers, and two visits to constituent companies.

Focused on the hot topic of artificial intelligence, the sessions unpacked investment value and prospects while providing professional, practical education on ETF investment tools. The goal was to help participants establish a scientific approach to asset allocation.

Where to begin

On the afternoon of September 3, an ETF education session for banking channels was held at the Chongqing Capital Market Service Base. A lecturer from the Shanghai Stock Exchange highlighted the bourse's ETF ecosystem, which spans equities, bonds, cross-border assets, commodities, and upcoming active ETF innovations. This broad coverage enables investors to pursue a complete wealth management journey from savings to growth within a single account. As public fund assets surge in China's wealth management landscape, passive index investing via ETFs has become a key tool for asset allocation.

On the morning of September 4, an ETF strategy meeting was organized for institutional clients. Topics were rich and insightful, including presentations on the development and outlook of Shanghai Stock Exchange ETFs, prospects for the STAR Market and index-based investing, and Smart Beta allocation strategies blending technology and dividend factors. Portfolio managers from Harvest Fund's index investment team reviewed A-share market volatility this year and discussed how to build balanced portfolios using technology-focused and dividend-focused ETF products across growth, profitability, and value styles.

Company site visits

As part of the event, attendees toured STAR Market-listed firms CloudWalk Technology and Zhenbao Technology. Under the guidance of company experts, investors explored exhibition halls and operational environments. They also engaged in in-depth discussions with senior executives covering business fundamentals, core technologies, company histories, future growth plans, and trends in the AI industry chain.

Participant feedback

Nearly 400 representatives from securities firms, insurers, asset managers, and banks took part in the series. The event delivered authoritative market insights and professional allocation strategies. Looking ahead, Harvest Fund plans to continue offering high-quality educational content and services to enhance investor experiences and support the sustainable growth of the ETF market ecosystem.
