Shares of COFCO Joycome Foods Ltd (01610.HK) jumped more than 7% during the morning trading session on Friday, reflecting growing investor confidence in the company's turnaround efforts. At the time of reporting, the stock was up 5.91% to HK$1.255, with a trading turnover of HK$35.795 million.

On the industry front, data through September 4 shows that the national average hog price reached 11.06 yuan per kilogram, a cumulative rebound of nearly 17% from the low of 9.47 yuan per kilogram recorded in late June. According to Huayuan Securities, the recent improvement in slaughter supply pressure, combined with easing supply constraints, has contributed to the overall price recovery. Demand-side factors have also shown positive momentum, providing additional support for hog prices. The brokerage expects prices to maintain a relatively strong trend in the foreseeable future.

In a research note, Guoyuan International highlighted the company's robust operational performance during the first half of 2026. COFCO Joycome reported fresh pork sales volumes of 197,000 metric tons, representing a 31.0% year-on-year increase. Notably, branded boxed pork sales reached 37.548 million boxes, up 35.1% year-on-year, while flaxseed pork volumes soared by 123%. The revenue contribution from branded products within the fresh pork segment climbed to 34.7%, a 3.5-percentage-point improvement compared to the same period last year.

Driven by strategic advancements across product innovation, channel expansion, and brand communication, the fresh pork business achieved its first-ever operating profit of 24.42 million yuan, an improvement of 28.71 million yuan year-on-year, marking a significant milestone in the company's turnaround trajectory.
