A leading Dalian-based industrial pump manufacturer has cemented its market dominance with its flagship products capturing over 16% of the domestic market, following years of dedicated focus on specialized and innovative development. This achievement aligns with broader national policy efforts to foster high-quality growth among specialized small and medium-sized enterprises, a key step in strengthening the country's industrial base. The company's latest milestone highlights its success in not only navigating but also shaping a competitive landscape, proving the tangible rewards of its technological commitment.

Dalian Shuanglong Pump Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Shuanglong Pump) is positioning itself to become a leader in the intelligent transformation of the pump manufacturing sector. Standing before a newly topped-out seven-story R&D complex, the company’s chairman, Zhao Lijun, expressed confidence in this future direction. Behind him, construction activity at the company’s second factory’s second phase is in full swing, with plans to integrate smart industrial robots, 5G connectivity, and MES systems as standard features in the workshop of the future.

As one of China’s largest manufacturers of corrosion-resistant and industrial pumps, and a nationally recognized "Little Giant" enterprise, Shuanglong Pump has made research and development a cornerstone of its strategy. In 2025 alone, the company allocated over 14 million yuan to R&D, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and securing a strong foundation for future expansion into new markets. This investment is paying dividends, with a recent visit to its second plant in the Jinpu New District revealing active construction on the second-phase project, slated for completion and operation by the end of the year.

Shuanglong Pump's primary product offerings include high-efficiency, energy-saving long-shaft mixed-flow pumps and large double-suction pumps. These are critical components used in the nuclear power, thermal power, petrochemical, and environmental protection sectors, prized for their efficiency, stability, and reliability. The surging demand for electricity, linked in part to the AI boom, has significantly increased orders for power equipment. "Roughly 60% of our products go to the power industry, which is why we have been expanding our capacity in recent years," Zhao Lijun explained. The company currently operates five factories, capable of producing over 700 pump models across 38 series, with 16 of those series achieving internationally leading standards.

The company’s competitive edge is sharpened by its use of advanced technologies like CFD numerical simulation, model testing, and flow field analysis to refine its design models. This meticulous approach has resulted in a leading domestic hydraulic model featuring optimized impellers and volute casings. Pumps utilizing this high-efficiency hydraulic technology achieve a total efficiency of 90% to 93%, significantly outperforming the industry average of 85% to 88%. Furthermore, ongoing R&D into materials and casting processes has reduced the wear rate of critical components by 30%.

This relentless focus on innovation has enabled Shuanglong Pump to make significant strides in import substitution. "In the past, in some key areas, European and American pump products held a monopoly position. Through unremitting efforts, we have developed key equipment such as large power station main circulating water pumps and long-distance heating network pumps, solving a 'bottleneck' problem," Zhao Lijun stated. In the last three years, the company has supplied over 1,200 industrial pump sets, achieving an import substitution value exceeding 300 million yuan in the power and municipal sectors.

Shuanglong Pump also boasts one of the most advanced testing facilities in Northeast China. Its large-scale, company-owned microcomputer-controlled pump testing station, certified for first-level precision, features a test pool 16 meters deep. This facility can simultaneously test pump products at 10 kV, 6 kV, and 380 V voltages, as well as handle large pumps with a flow rate of up to 60,000 cubic meters per hour.

With its main products holding a market share of over 16.5% in specific domestic market segments, Shuanglong Pump has established a blue-chip clientele that includes major state-owned power groups like Datang International Power Generation, China Huaneng Group, China Huadian Group, and China Energy Group. The supply of these high-end pumps has helped clients reduce operational and maintenance costs by more than 30% and lower equipment failure rates by approximately 40%.
