At the recent global airport experience summit organized by the Airports Council International (ACI), Pudong Airport secured the "2025 Best Airport in the Asia-Pacific Region (Over 40 Million Passengers)" award. This marks the sixth consecutive year it has achieved the top passenger satisfaction ranking, tying for first place among 380 participating airports worldwide.

During 2025, Pudong Airport handled 557,000 flight movements, reflecting a 5.5% year-on-year increase, and served 84.995 million passengers, up 10.7% compared to the previous year. Transfer traffic reached 13.75 million passengers annually, growing 14%, with a transit rate of 16.2%—a scale that ranks among the highest nationwide and leads the Northeast Asian region.

In response to steadily rising passenger flow, Pudong Airport has actively pursued its corporate mission of providing "the best aviation support for a better life" under the Shanghai Airport brand. Working alongside customs, immigration, public security, and airline partners, it established a dedicated committee to streamline aviation procedures. This collaboration has resulted in a suite of new services, including standardized minimum connecting times, stress-free transfer assistance, late-night rest accommodations, and enhanced services for flight delays.

The airport has also formed a dedicated "Baggage 1040" task force, ensuring that for arriving flights, the first piece of luggage is available within 10 minutes and the last within 40 minutes under normal conditions. Compliance rates for baggage delivery on international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan inbound flights now exceed 95%. Additionally, RFID baggage tracking coverage for domestic outbound flights has reached 92%, allowing passengers to check the status of their luggage for up to three days through the Shanghai Airport WeChat mini-program.

Centered on its "Easy Transit in Shanghai" brand, Pudong Airport has rolled out 24-hour security screening and customs clearance for international departures, along with sleep pods, complimentary centralized rest areas, and shower facilities. Restaurants now extend their operating hours, multilingual guides are available, and passengers can log onto the airport's free Wi-Fi using passport verification. The airport has also introduced dedicated care zones and infant-friendly spaces, while partnering with airlines to offer seamless inter-airline and inter-terminal transfers with single check-in and through-checked baggage.

These initiatives ensure that global travelers feel truly welcomed, experiencing the airport's promise that every guest is treated with warmth and every journey is elevated to the highest standard. The ACI Airport Service Quality survey represents a benchmark for authority in civil aviation service evaluation, assessing hub airports across the globe each year through 31 indicators spanning eight key categories.
