China Suntien: August Power Output Slips 7.5% While Gas Sales Retreat 25%

China Suntien Green Energy Corporation Limited reported that total power generation in August 2026 fell 7.52% year-on-year to 0.73 million MWh. Cumulative output for the first eight months edged down 0.97% to 9.78 million MWh.

Wind remained the dominant contributor, delivering 0.67 million MWh in August—92% of the month’s total—but declining 11.00% from a year earlier. Solar generation surged 63.45% to 0.06 million MWh, lifting its January-to-August tally by 29.02% to 0.34 million MWh.

Regionally, Hebei continued to underpin performance, producing 0.44 million MWh of wind power in August (-12.99% YoY), followed by Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Jiangsu. Notable monthly gains emerged in Jiangsu (+56.49%), Jiangxi (+56.48%) and Liaoning (+34.14%), partly offsetting sharp declines in Yunnan (-75.02%) and Shanxi (-45.47%).

The gas business recorded a steeper slowdown. August transmission and sales volume contracted 21.96% to 262.03 million cubic meters. Within this, gas sales slipped 25.49% to 213.78 million cubic meters, while third-party transportation volumes were largely stable (-1.28% to 48.25 million cubic meters). Year-to-date, total gas throughput reached 2.77 billion cubic meters, down 21.46%. Wholesale volumes declined 21.93% to 1.03 billion cubic meters, and LNG distribution fell 52.47% to 0.32 billion cubic meters; retail gas and CNG sales decreased 10.16% and 11.09%, respectively.

Management emphasized that all figures are preliminary and may differ from those disclosed in forthcoming interim or annual reports.
