China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, alongside other departments, unveiled the eighth batch of new professions today. This announcement adds 11 official professions and 23 distinct job roles to the national classification, reflecting the evolving demands of the modern economy.

The list of 11 new professions spans cutting-edge technology and emerging industries. These include digital twin engineers, embodied intelligent robot application technicians, industrial product digital modeling specialists, sports data analysts, microgrid administrators, hydrogen fuel cell manufacturers, water electrolysis hydrogen producers, incense makers, ship shore-based management engineering technicians, satellite navigation equipment assemblers, and corporate sustainable development planners.

Complementing these professions are 23 newly defined job roles designed to address specific skill gaps in the workforce. Highlighted amongst them are low-altitude logistics personnel, low-altitude intelligent connected system administrators, intelligent agent developers, new energy vehicle inspectors, airport clearance surveyors, aging-friendly renovation designers, fresh-cut flower processors, ice and snow sculptors, and community workers.

This expansion of the occupational catalog underscores the nation's commitment to formalizing roles in high-growth sectors, including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable business practices.
