A new academic term has brought a wave of digital innovation to schools in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. The Lianyungang branch of China Mobile has introduced its new electronic campus cards to several primary and secondary schools in the Lianyun District, transforming how students, parents, and educators connect.

Designed to look like a standard student ID, the electronic card integrates student identification, smart attendance tracking, and safety notification functions. Each card is linked to a specific student's identity and uses long-range, contactless chip technology alongside imaging equipment to automatically detect when a student enters or exits the school gates. This triggers an instant safety message to the parent's mobile phone, offering families greater peace of mind and strengthening communication between home and school.

One parent shared their positive experience, saying, "Sometimes we are busy with work and have grandparents pick up the kids. I used to worry about whether they got to school and home safely. Now, with the electronic campus card, we receive a safety text message on our phones as soon as our child passes through the school gate, which is very reassuring. Additionally, our child can use the campus phone with the card to contact us, which is extremely convenient."

Another parent praised the card for solving a common dilemma in the digital age. "The Ministry of Education has clear rules against students bringing mobile phones to school. But sometimes there are special situations, like when a child forgets their study materials at home and needs to reach us without a phone. Now, with the electronic campus card, the child can contact us without carrying a mobile device. It is the best of both worlds."

School administrators are equally enthusiastic. A representative from Lianyungang Huajie High School noted that the electronic campus card has significantly improved the intelligence level of campus management. It enables precise, dynamic tracking of student information, which greatly boosts work efficiency. The platform also allows teachers to share students' performance and status at school with parents more promptly, fostering a collaborative educational environment.

Currently, China Mobile's Lianyungang branch has equipped multiple primary and secondary schools with electronic campus cards, benefiting over a thousand students. Looking ahead, the company plans to deepen its cooperation with local education departments and schools. By expanding the use of these smart cards, they aim to build a solid foundation for digital campus development, enhance the application of information technology in attendance tracking, and further elevate the level of intelligent, data-driven school management.
