Recent revelations of a 2010 registration photo and details about the rental apartment in Guangzhou where "Mei Yi" lived before her arrest have drawn widespread public attention. A photo circulating online purportedly shows her selling mangoes at a street stall before being taken into custody, sparking further curiosity.

In the image, a woman who appears to be in her early sixties wears a partial face mask, with fruit such as mangoes and pineapples displayed in front of her, priced at "3 for 10 yuan." Observers note that a WeChat payment code nearby lists the account name as "Yuzhen," which sources say corresponds to her alias. According to an insider, "Mei Yi" used the identity name Xie Lizhen while in Guangzhou.

The source told reporters that the online photo closely matches her current appearance, adding, "She does look like that, but her present condition seems worse, almost as if she is undernourished and quite frail. This photo appears to be from a time when she was in relatively good spirits." Meanwhile, according to a report from Southern Daily, journalists took the same image to the neighborhood where she lived before her arrest, and local residents unanimously agreed it strongly resembled her, with some affirming it was indeed her.

Earlier reports from Cover News indicate that "Mei Yi" signed a lease under the name "Xie Mouzhen" prior to her detention. The WeChat account provided by insiders shows no profile picture but carries the nickname "Yuzhen 2." Neighbors described her routine of heading out with a tricycle to sell cut mangoes, often staying out until past midnight. When fruit was left unsold, she would give it away to nearby residents, and during idle hours, she would collect scrap materials to supplement her income. Additional details from sources reveal that her first husband noted she left the family after giving birth to two sons.
