The much-anticipated second-generation "Doubao Phone" is officially set for launch. On September 7, ZTE's nubia brand made a major announcement: the new mass-production flagship, the nubia NaviX Ultra, equipped with the Doubao mobile assistant, will be officially released on September 16. The company is positioning this device as the world's first AI-agent smartphone, capable of transforming the phone from a tool that requires manual operation into a smart assistant that can handle tasks on the user's behalf. This system is designed to understand commands, execute tasks, remember user preferences, and ensure robust security. Pre-orders across all major channels have now officially commenced.

This latest release marks a significant progression from an earlier experimental phase. In December 2025, nubia introduced the M153 model, which carried a technical preview version of the Doubao assistant. Now, with the upcoming nubia NaviX Ultra, the company is taking this cutting-edge technology from a proof-of-concept stage to full-scale consumer availability. The journey toward this launch included completing the intelligent-agent large model filing in July, followed by nubia acquiring the official network access license from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the NaviX Ultra just recently. With both the model filing and network license secured, the device now meets all regulatory requirements for commercial release.
