On the morning of August 28th, the home-based elderly care service center in Yanyu Community, Nanhu Street, was filled with warmth as the third-quarter birthday celebration for the Haiyantang Road Silver Hair District took place. By 10 a.m., the elderly attendees began arriving one after another, greeting each other with handshakes and cheerful exchanges.
As the familiar strains of the birthday song filled the room, staff members served steaming bowls of longevity noodles, each topped with a fried egg, symbolizing health and long life. One elderly resident, Mrs. Wang, held her bowl with emotion and remarked, "These noodles warm my heart as much as they warm my stomach!" The seniors enjoyed their meal while chatting animatedly about the recent changes in their neighborhood.
Interestingly, since many of the elderly participants have the character "宝" (meaning "treasure") in their names, the group playfully dubbed the gathering the "Treasure Banquet." Since the establishment of the Haiyantang Road Silver Hair District, regular activities such as birthday parties and health lectures have been organized to create a social platform for the elderly, fostering an atmosphere of "caring for the aged and bringing joy to their later years."
Community officials have pledged to continue diversifying these activities and enhancing service quality, aiming to make the Silver Hair District a true haven of happiness for its senior residents.
