Movement Alert|Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund Rises 5.02% in Regular Trading, Bitcoin ETF Inflows Hit Record as Institutional Demand Surges

On September 3, Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund rose 5.02% in regular trading, reaching $70.67 per share, with turnover of approximately $305 million. The fund, which tracks the spot price of Bitcoin, rallied alongside a broader surge in cryptocurrency-linked assets.

The move comes amid a historically strong period for Bitcoin ETF inflows. Data shows approximately $3.5 billion flowed into U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs in August, the largest single-month net inflow in over a year, driving Bitcoin to a roughly 25% monthly gain. Over the past five trading days alone, gold and Bitcoin ETFs collectively attracted around $7 billion in record combined inflows, as investors pivoted toward scarce assets amid escalating U.S. fiscal debt concerns and a weakening dollar narrative.

BlackRock recently reaffirmed that a 1%-2% Bitcoin allocation optimizes portfolio Sharpe ratios, while corporate treasury giants including Strategy and Strive deployed over $500 million in a single week to acquire Bitcoin. Meanwhile, institutional flows briefly reversed with a $203 million net outflow on August 28, underscoring that sustained ETF demand remains the critical variable for price stability near the $80,000 level.

Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund seeks to track the performance of bitcoin as measured by the Fidelity Bitcoin Reference Rate, adjusted for the Trust's expenses and other liabilities. The Trust holds bitcoin and values its shares daily based on the same methodology used to calculate the benchmark index.
