CGN Power Co., Ltd. has confirmed that Zhaoyuan Unit 2, developed by its subsidiary Shandong Zhaoyuan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., will reach its first concrete date on 5 September 2026, marking the formal launch of full-scale construction and the beginning of the civil works phase.
Designed with HPR1000 nuclear technology, Zhaoyuan Unit 2 will add 1,214 MW of generating capacity to China’s power grid upon completion. The project is the second reactor at the Zhaoyuan site and aligns with the group’s strategy of expanding its domestic nuclear portfolio.
The company stated that no further information requiring disclosure is pending and referred investors to future announcements published through The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The board reiterated its standard advisory for investors to exercise caution and remain mindful of investment risks.
The announcement was authorized by the Board of CGN Power and signed by Chief Financial Officer, Joint Company Secretary and Board Secretary Yin Engang on 4 September 2026. The current Board comprises one executive director, four non-executive directors and three independent non-executive directors.
