China CBM Interim 2026: Revenue Jumps 165% and Profit Rebounds on LNG Divestment

Bulletin Express
Aug 31

China CBM reported unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026. Revenue from continuing operations reached RMB 40.84 million, up 165.00% from the prior-year period, driven mainly by higher external sales of piped natural gas after the disposal of the Group’s LNG liquefaction business.

Profit attributable to equity shareholders from continuing operations recovered to RMB 79.28 million, versus a loss of RMB 9.47 million a year earlier. The turnaround was largely due to a RMB 74.62 million gain on the February 2026 disposal of 100% equity in Shanxi Qinshui Shuntai Energy Development, the LNG subsidiary sold for RMB 24.61 million.

Earnings per share from continuing operations came in at RMB 0.2030, compared with a loss of RMB 0.0243 per share in the first half of 2025. The Board recommended no interim dividend.

The balance sheet showed cash and bank balances of RMB 45.30 million, net assets of RMB 141.31 million and a gearing ratio of 2.9%. Capital commitments contracted but not provided amounted to RMB 9.15 million.

Operationally, the Group had 170 producing CBM wells at period-end and continues to advance its proprietary coal-to-gas and thermal extraction technologies.

Governance updates include the resignation of executive director Chang Jian on 13 February 2026 and ongoing litigation related to Nuoxin (Xian County) Engineering Materials, which remains under review by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate. The audit committee has reviewed the interim results and confirmed adequate accounting and internal-control staffing.
