ASML Holding has commenced construction on its second industrial campus in the Netherlands, delivering a significant win for the Dutch government after it pledged billions in public funding to secure the tech giant's continued expansion within the country.

The company announced on Tuesday that its forthcoming complex in Eindhoven will eventually cover an area roughly the size of 50 European soccer fields, with the capacity to house up to 20,000 employees. The initial phase of the development is slated for completion in 2029.

This expansion arrives over two years after the government, alongside corporate and local authorities, committed billions to improving infrastructure around Eindhoven. Those measures were designed to persuade ASML, often hailed as the crown jewel of the Dutch economy, to keep its operations on home soil.

ASML executives have stressed that sustained growth hinges on a favorable business climate, which includes access to a skilled technical workforce, ample housing, and robust public services.
