Great Wall Motor Company Limited (GWMOTOR) disclosed a fresh on-market repurchase of 1.11 million H-shares on 3 September 2026, paying a total of HKD 8.57 million. The shares were repurchased on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices ranging from HKD 7.735 to HKD 7.83, translating into a volume-weighted average cost of roughly HKD 7.76 per share.
Following the buyback, the number of issued shares excluding treasury stock fell to 2.302 billion, while treasury shares increased to 16.92 million. Total issued shares were unchanged at 2.319 billion because the repurchased shares will be held in treasury rather than cancelled at this stage. The 1.11 million shares acquired represent 0.05% of the company’s pre-repurchase issued share capital.
The purchases form part of a broader mandate approved on 26 June 2026, which authorises GWMOTOR to repurchase up to 230.77 million shares. Including the latest transaction, the company has bought back 16.92 million shares under this mandate—about 0.73% of the share count outstanding on the mandate date.
Under Hong Kong listing rules, GWMOTOR is now subject to a 30-day moratorium on issuing new shares or selling treasury shares, ending on 3 October 2026.
