Starting at midnight tonight, drivers in Guizhou will face higher costs at the pump as domestic refined oil prices are set to increase. This adjustment follows a directive from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), which announced the price hike effective from 24:00 on September 11, in response to recent fluctuations in international crude oil markets.

According to the provincial development and reform commission, the price of 89-octane gasoline (National VIB) will rise by 260 yuan per tonne, while 0-diesel will increase by 250 yuan per tonne from their current benchmark levels. Retail outlets are permitted to set their final prices, provided they do not exceed the established maximum wholesale and retail caps.

Taking Guiyang as an example, the adjustments translate to an increase of 0.20 yuan per litre for 89-octane gasoline, bringing it to 7.95 yuan per litre. The more commonly used 92-octane gasoline will see its price climb from 8.22 yuan to 8.42 yuan per litre, and 95-octane will rise by 0.22 yuan to 8.90 yuan per litre. For a typical family car with a 50-litre fuel tank, this means the cost to fill up with 92-octane gasoline will increase by 10 yuan.
