Prudential announces share cancellations and new buybacks

Prudential plc announced it cancelled 661,774 ordinary shares on Sep, 08 2026, reducing its total issued share capital to 2,492,828,558 shares.

The cancelled stock originated from buybacks executed on Sep, 04 2026.

On the same day, the company repurchased an additional 691,076 shares on the London Stock Exchange. These shares are earmarked for cancellation, taking the tally of shares awaiting cancellation to 1,331,229.

The repurchases were carried out under mandates approved at Prudential’s 2025 and 2026 annual general meetings, through which the insurer has so far bought back 119,283,036 and 1,392,864 shares, respectively.

Under market regulations, Prudential cannot issue new shares or dispose of treasury shares until Oct, 08 2026.
