On the afternoon of September 5, 2026, a delegation led by Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Holding Group, visited Peking University (PKU), where they were received at Linhu Xuan by He Guangcai, Secretary of the PKU Party Committee, and Gao Song, President of the university and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Also participating in the engagements were Lu Dan, CEO of Geely Talent Development Group, Chairman and Global CEO of Xinwei Technology; Yang Xueliang, Vice President of Geely Holding Group; Shi Lei, Secretary-General of the Li Shufu Charity Foundation; Cao Xiang, CEO of Geely Capital; along with Zhang Jin, Standing Committee Member of the PKU Party Committee, Executive Vice President, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Pu Shilong, Vice President of PKU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

On behalf of the university, He Guangcai expressed gratitude to Li Shufu and Geely Holding Group for their longstanding support and care for PKU. He noted that the collaboration between PKU and Geely is built on a deep foundation and solid groundwork, expressing hope that both sides will further deepen high-level cooperation in education, science and technology, and talent development, jointly contributing to the nation's drive for strength and rejuvenation.

Gao Song introduced the university's recent progress in consolidating foundational disciplines and advancing new engineering and interdisciplinary fields. He stated that the cooperation prospects are broad, and PKU is willing to work with Geely on joint research and talent cultivation in areas such as new energy vehicles, frontier materials, and artificial intelligence, fostering new productive forces and supporting high-quality economic and social development.

Li Shufu remarked that PKU's strengths in foundational disciplines and the notable achievements in new engineering development align closely with Geely's layout in new energy vehicles and cutting-edge technologies, particularly in materials, mechanics, and artificial intelligence. Geely hopes to work with PKU to deeply integrate the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain, contributing to the building of a strong education nation, a strong science and technology nation, and a strong talent nation.

Following the meeting, Pu Shilong and Lu Dan signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of PKU and Geely Talent Development Group, respectively.

Before the meeting, Li Shufu and his delegation toured the university's discipline laboratories, gaining firsthand insights into PKU's cutting-edge research achievements in new materials and mechanical engineering. Zhang Jin accompanied the visit.

Relevant deans and departmental heads from PKU's schools and administrative offices were also present at the activities.
