Starting September 9, Qingdao Airport Group, in collaboration with Qingdao Tourism Group and Shanxi Automobile Transport Group's provincial special vehicle platform, has initiated a trial operation of a direct scenic area shuttle service for transfer passengers arriving in Qingdao. This new offering is designed to enhance the travel experience for those with layovers, providing a convenient link between the airport and local attractions.
The shuttle service operates on a model of "one-way transport plus return ride-sharing plus customized travel," catering to passengers with different transfer durations and travel preferences. It has launched a dedicated route to the Shanghe·Silk Road Eternal Love scenic area, a classic Qingdao city landmarks sightseeing route, and offers flexible customized vehicle services. With high flexibility, the shuttles depart every hour or as soon as a group of five passengers is formed.
Passengers can board the shuttle at designated areas in Qingdao Airport's terminal or at the airport's transit hotel, with fares starting at just 30 yuan to easily match their travel plans. The pick-up points are located at Gate 4 on the first floor of the domestic arrivals area and at the Qingdao Airport transit hotel.
A representative from Qingdao Airport noted that the one-way direct shuttle to Shanghe·Silk Road Eternal Love operates from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering a non-stop journey with no transfers required. Travelers can reach the scenic area in about 35 minutes to enjoy a unique performance that blends Silk Road culture with Qingdao's local charm. The recommended visiting time for the attraction is 2 to 4 hours.
The classic Qingdao city landmarks sightseeing shuttle runs 24 hours a day, connecting famous spots such as the Underwater World, Badaguan Scenic Area, May Fourth Square, and the Olympic Sailing Center. Passengers can choose their preferred stop and expect a ride of about 70 minutes to start their city walk, with approximately 1 hour suggested for each attraction. Additionally, Qingdao Airport offers a daily limited-quantity benefit for international transfer passengers: a choice of one of three experiences—the Underwater World, the "Dream of the Sea" tourism performance, or a cruise at the Olympic Sailing Center—catering to the short-trip needs of international travelers.
Travelers can also flexibly plan their itineraries based on their flight connection times, enjoying a personalized travel service.
