Trade-in programs are unlocking fresh consumer momentum, with targeted measures channeling benefits into household spending. This year, regions including Guangxi and Shandong have refined their consumer goods trade-in initiatives, sharpening subsidy support for high-demand smart products.

The commerce authorities in Guangxi have expanded their trade-in subsidy coverage, adding support for nine smart product categories such as intelligent robots, digital cameras, and smart audio-visual devices. This move aims to let more consumers tap into the full benefits of the trade-in policy.

Meanwhile, Shandong province has rolled out a new subsidy framework. By the end of this year, it will for the first time incorporate eight product types—including robot vacuum cleaners, smart toilets, and hearing aids—into its locally funded trade-in subsidy scope. Consumers purchasing these items can enjoy an instant discount equal to 15% of the final retail price, with a maximum subsidy of 1,500 yuan per item.
