Motorists in Kunming are advised to head to the pump without delay, as a significant fuel price increase is scheduled to take effect. The adjustment will occur at 11:00 PM on September 11th, marking the 18th price revision of the year, with expectations of a jump of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter.
Following the previous increase of over 0.29 yuan per liter, fuel prices for 2026 have now risen 11 times compared to just 5 decreases. Over the first eight months, the cumulative surge has exceeded 1.32 yuan per liter. This upward trend is bolstered by international crude oil prices, which closed more than 3.25% higher this morning, further accelerating the current hike.
Driven by today's global oil market gains, the crude oil change rate has hit 5.89%, projecting an increase of 330 yuan per ton. Based on this trajectory, gasoline and diesel prices are expected to rise by 0.25 to 0.30 yuan per liter tomorrow evening. With less than 48 hours remaining before the adjustment, the new rates will be in effect starting September 12th.
After tomorrow night's hike, 95-octane gasoline is set to approach the "9 yuan era." Currently, most regions have already seen 95-octane prices climb to 8.60 yuan per liter. With the additional increase of nearly 0.30 yuan, the day after tomorrow will bring this fuel grade dangerously close to the 9-yuan benchmark. (Please note: the projected figures are based on institutional estimates only; the final adjustment will be confirmed by official announcements.)
