From September 9 to 13, the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at Shougang Park in Beijing. JD.com (09618, JD.US) participated as an exhibitor for the seventh consecutive year, centering this year's showcase on "going global," presenting its production-oriented service capabilities built around supply chains. As the subsidiary focused on healthcare, JD Health (06618) demonstrated its closed-loop "medical-examination-diagnosis-medication" service model, full-scenario AI applications, and the latest practices in health protection for companies expanding overseas, drawing significant on-site attention.

During the Consumption E-commerce Forum at the 2026 E-commerce Conference held in parallel, Fan Hui, Vice President of JD Group and General Manager of JD Health's Internet Medical Business, delivered a keynote address. She noted that public health needs are shifting from passive treatment to proactive health management. In this journey, consumers no longer require a one-off transaction, consultation, or medication purchase but rather a multi-scenario, user-centric, life-cycle management approach.

From "Treating Illness" to "Managing Health": A Revamped Medical Experience via the Integrated Care Loop

JD Health shared key figures during the session: the total scale of medical services is projected to exceed 10 trillion yuan in 2025, with internet healthcare users reaching 411 million. The national "15th Five-Year Plan" segments health consumption into six major tracks, while "Healthy China 2030" explicitly transitions from treatment to management. Per capita healthcare expenditure has grown nearly 40% over five years, and health literacy has risen to 33.69%. These policy shifts and data converge on a singular theme: public health demands are evolving from "passive treatment of disease" to "proactive health management." JD Health's answer lies in unifying the four key components of medical care, examination, diagnosis, and medication to form an integrated online-offline closed loop.

Two real-life scenarios illustrate how this system operates. In one, an elderly patient with COPD and a history of myocardial infarction had a blood oxygen level of only 90% after discharge. Family members consulted a respiratory specialist from a top-tier hospital via JD Internet Hospital for a video consultation. The doctor adjusted the medication and recommended a ventilator. The family ordered it the same day, and it was delivered the next morning. A nurse visited the home, set parameters under remote physician guidance, and provided training. Ventilator data was synced to the doctor in real time, enabling ongoing online adjustments. The patient received complete, professional rehabilitation care without leaving home.

Another scenario features a regular family: a child develops a fever, and the mother opts not to rush to the hospital. Instead, she consults JD Health's "AI Doctor Dawei" first. After several rounds of questions, Dawei suggests a nucleic acid test. A professional arrives to collect the sample, and the results are uploaded to the JD App within two hours. Dawei interprets the findings, provides medication advice, and the medicine is purchased online and delivered quickly. What might have previously consumed half a day at a hospital is resolved entirely at home.

Currently, this closed loop supports 425 types of examination and testing, with over 160 available for at-home execution across 27 core cities. Advanced imaging such as CT and MRI scans can now be ordered online and scheduled at partner facilities in 15 cities nationwide, helping to prevent diagnostic delays due to queuing. JD Health's "秒送" service achieves an average medication delivery time of 28 minutes.

Powering Accessibility with AI, Supply Chain, and Services

Supporting this integrated care model is JD Health's full-scenario capability combining "AI, supply chain, and services." For users, the AI doctor "Dawei" integrates authoritative guidelines and literature to offer 24/7 free consultations, with user numbers growing nearly fivefold in 2026 and a satisfaction rate exceeding 98%. Beyond the AI doctor, JD Health has developed over a dozen specialized intelligent agents, including AI pharmacists and AI nutritionists, as well as more than 3,500 "expert intelligent agents" co-created with specialists, ensuring patients receive professional responses at any time.

Recently, JD Health also launched the industry's first fully intelligent famous-doctor agent, embedding expert diagnostic reasoning into AI. Users input symptoms, medical history, and test reports, and the agent evaluates conditions, interprets indicators, suggests care pathways, and reminds about follow-ups and medication adherence. Through "AI plus hardware plus services," devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors are connected to personal health records, integrated with online consultations, at-home testing, and nurse visits, transforming health management into tangible, delivered services.

For physicians, the evidence-based AI tool "Zhiyi" aggregates over 50 million medical literature pieces and more than 160,000 drug inserts, offering free access to doctors nationwide. It has served over one million physicians and assisted with more than 20 million clinical decisions. Through partners, Zhiyi has reached 3 million primary-care and rural doctors, channeling high-quality diagnostic capabilities and pharmaceutical supply chains into community clinics and villages.

For hospitals, the industry's first full-scenario hospital AI product, "JD Zhuoyi," has been deployed at institutions like the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. At Wenzhou Medical University's affiliated hospital, an AI-driven outpatient service loop has served over 9.1 million patients. In weight management scenarios, the AI sentinel system covers more than 2.45 million hospital visits, shifting from "waiting for patients" to "proactive identification."

On the supply chain front, as the largest, most comprehensive, and fastest-fulfilling pharmaceutical retail channel in China, JD Health launched an AI-powered global medication search service in 2026, utilizing its proprietary "Drug Intelligence Model" to remove regional and informational barriers. With 65 new drugs debuted in the first half of the year, its status as the top launchpad for novel medications remains solid.

Serving Global Expansion: Health Protection for Overseas Enterprises and International AI Agent Plans

In line with this year's CIFTIS "going global" theme, JD Health also highlighted its international capabilities, spanning from health assurance for expanding companies to the roadmap for overseas AI doctor agents. To address the challenges faced by Chinese enterprises abroad—such as scarce local medical resources, insufficient psychological support, and delayed emergency response—JD Health has leveraged domestic and international healthcare resources to establish a comprehensive health protection framework for overseas companies. This includes 24/7 multilingual online consultations, real-time psychological counseling, and tertiary-hospital specialist referrals, supported by supply chains delivering medications and medical equipment, as well as deployed "health pods." This solution is modular and customizable, accommodating everything from health checks and consultations to mental health support, first-aid training, and equipment delivery, flexibly adapting to the varied needs of companies across different regions, industries, and sizes.

Moreover, JD Health's AI-driven "medical-examination-diagnosis-medication" loop, with its mature domestic practices, serves as a reference for developing integrated online-offline healthcare overseas. The AI doctor agent suite—including AI doctors, AI pharmacists, and AI nutritionists—is slated for an overseas version in due course, extending the benefits of AI in healthcare to more users globally.

From "treating illness" to "managing health," from online to offline, and from domestic to international arenas, JD Health is advancing its core strategy of "AI plus supply chain plus services" to make healthcare more accessible, intelligent, and inclusive. Looking ahead, JD Health will focus on long-term health management areas like chronic disease care and home-based elderly support, continuously opening its technology and supply chain ecosystems, collaborating with industry partners to forge a new digital-intelligent healthcare landscape, ensuring every health need is precisely addressed and every life professionally guarded.
