Xiaomi held its strategic cooperation launch event for the Dragon Armor Battery on the afternoon of September 4th, unveiling a new safety initiative designed to address battery-related risks. The battery product is developed in partnership with CALB and Sunwoda, with Xiaomi-W (SEHK: 01810) taking full responsibility for the entire supply chain, from product definition to design and quality control.

Under the new plan, Xiaomi is offering two key lifetime guarantees. Firstly, a lifetime warranty against spontaneous combustion covers cases where a fire caused by an original battery quality defect results in the vehicle being written off, with compensation in the form of a brand-new vehicle of equivalent configuration.

Secondly, the initiative also provides lifetime coverage for fires triggered by collisions or underbody scrapes. In such events, if the vehicle reaches scrappage condition, Xiaomi will cover the difference between the insured amount under the vehicle damage policy and the actual payout from the insurance company.
