One classic quip: Wall Street analysts would grill Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei about this "extinction risk figure" during earnings calls. That joke also highlights a stark reality: Anthropic will soon kick off its IPO roadshow. How should company executives address this risk warning during investor presentations to Wall Street? Most likely, they will follow the example of that Anthropic researcher on X, citing the company's August 2026 risk report, which assesses the risk of its own AI model losing control as "low." But cracking open that report reveals something unsettling: Anthropic has upgraded the risk level from "very low." In other words, the company believes the risk has increased. Interesting! For instance, the report notes that the risk of malicious actors using AI models to create bioweapons is rated "low, but with significant uncertainty." Hmm, that is thought-provoking. We are in an unprecedented situation, yet everyone seems to be turning a blind eye. Which company's employees would openly state that their own product could wipe out humanity within a decade?
