XPENG-W's stock surged 5% during intraday trading on Monday, following the company's announcement of the upcoming debut of its new Mona L03 SUV in China.
The electric vehicle maker revealed that the Mona L03 will make its China debut on July 2, with display vehicles arriving at stores starting July 1. The company positions the model as "young people's first smart and stylish SUV" and developed it to the standards of 300,000-yuan-class vehicles while targeting a mass-market price point around 150,000 yuan.
As the first SUV in Xpeng's Mona series and the company's first dual-powertrain model offering both battery electric and extended-range options, the L03 represents Xpeng's strategy to balance daily commuting economy with long-distance travel range. The company is counting on new models in the Mona lineup to replicate the strong sales performance of its M03 sedan.
