In a significant operational milestone, the Aral Tairimu Airport in Xinjiang has achieved a historic first by handling over 60,000 passengers in a single month. Official data from the airport shows that this August alone saw 954 aircraft movements and a total of 61,300 arriving and departing passengers, breaking the previous monthly record.

This August marked a continuation of the facility's robust growth trend, with flight movements increasing by 26 percent and passenger volume rising by 25 percent year-on-year. Both metrics set new all-time monthly highs since the airport began operations, reflecting the sustained expansion of its aviation services and operational efficiency.

Cumulative figures for the period from January to August show the airport processed 408,200 passengers, a 25 percent increase compared to the same timeframe last year. This steady growth underscores the airport's improving route network and enhanced comprehensive support capabilities, which have played a pivotal role in accommodating rising travel demand.

Since the start of the year, the airport has deepened its partnerships with five airlines, launching a total of 15 domestic and regional routes. These connections now link the region to 19 cities, including Chengdu, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Yining, and Shihezi, with efforts ongoing to refine the connectivity system both within and beyond Xinjiang. The expanded network is designed to meet diverse needs such as family visits, tourism, and business travel, while leveraging air traffic to boost local economic activity, invigorate commercial districts, and empower cultural tourism initiatives.
