Japanese steel sheet imports face an anti-dumping investigation in Mexico, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a resolution published the same day in the official gazette in Mexico.

The investigation follows a request by a local group, Grupo Acerero, to Mexico's Ministry of Economy, which claimed that imported ​steel sheets manufactured in Japan were sold at discriminatory prices, constituting unfair international trade practices, the report said.

The probe covers Japanese-origin steel sheets regardless of the country from which they are exported, and the damage analysis will cover the period from Jan. 2023 through Dec. 2025, according to the report.
