U.S. Treasury Yields Move Little Awaiting Employment Report

0530 GMT - U.S. Treasury yields are little changed in Asian trade, with minor increases in the short end and small declines on the long end, as markets remain calm ahead of the August employment report at 1230 GMT. The report, however, cannot be viewed in isolation and the Federal Reserve will look at it as part of a suite of economic data, and traders should too, XTB's Kathleen Brooks says in a note. "Overall, this report will not give us a definitive answer on whether the Fed will hike rates or not at their meeting later in September, but a surprise number will still be important for financial markets," the research director says. The 10-year Treasury yield falls 0.6 basis point to 4.755%, according to Tradeweb.
