0552 GMT - The Philippines' inflation reading supports a near-term pause in rate increases by the central bank, two economists at UOB Global Economics & Markets Research say, noting CPI data released earlier. The data allow the central bank to "assess the lagged impact of cumulative tightening and gain greater clarity on external developments," the economists say in a research report. Also, "forward guidance from the Aug. Monetary Policy Statement and post-meeting briefing suggest policy rates are nearing sufficiently restrictive territory," they add. UOB expects the central bank to keep rates unchanged at 5.00% through 2027, contingent upon incoming inflation and growth data and the Fed's policy path.
