Austal (ASX:ASB) confirmed it held initial discussions with Wildcat Infrastructure but has not received a formal proposal, following media reports of a potential approach, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The shipbuilder's shares were up nearly 5% in recent Monday trade.
