Fed Could Raise Rate Three Times from December

0343 GMT - The Federal Reserve now seems likely to raise its federal funds rate three times, starting from December, say ANZ Research economists in a note. They cite persistent supply shocks, including the recent escalation of the Middle East conflict, and the risk they pose to inflation expectations and underlying price stability. ANZ has pencilled in December for the start of the rate tightening cycle, with the three sequential increases to be 25 bps each, the economists say, which should take the fed funds target range to 4.25%-4.50%. Still, a rate increase at the Fed's meeting next week can't be ruled out, depending on August inflation data this week, they say.
