Trump Summarizes GOP Midterm Motivation in One Word: 'Communism'

Asked during a Fox News interview to summarize in one sentence why his base should turn out for the midterms, President Trump replied with a single word: "communism."
Opposition to the ideology has been a theme of the GOP convention so far and will remain a constant Republican drumbeat until November. Trump has often vowed that the U.S. will never become a socialist country. He recalled those promises during the interview before alleging that Democrats "are going for the big one. They skip socialism. These people are sick."
