JD.com (JD) is working to improve its concessions to address European Union concerns over its planned 2.2 billion euros ($2.6 billion) acquisition of Ceconomy, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

JD.com has been meeting with EU regulators reviewing the deal under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation and is adjusting its initial concessions after competitors raised concerns during a market test, the people told Bloomberg.

The changes could put the transaction on track for conditional approval by the Oct. 23 deadline, according to the report.

The European Commission and JD.com did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
