Petrobras (PBR) plans to increase diesel prices at its refineries by roughly 1 Brazilian reais ($0.20), though the state-run oil company is waiting for government measures to protect consumers from the move, Reuters reported Thursday, citing two company sources.

Petrobras is seeking to cut the gap between domestic diesel prices and global benchmarks that has grown amid the Middle East conflict and other factors, according to the report.

The company didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
