Bessent Warns of 'Socialist Hellscape' if Progressive Democrats Take Power

Treasury Secretary Bessent promoted President Trump's economic policies and made the case that the administration is helping the middle class in a pointed speech that took aim at the left.
Bessent highlighted investment accounts crafted by the administration for children under the age of 18. He also painted a bleak picture of the past before Trump was president and warned about a bleak future if progressive Democrats take control of Congress. "Let's not be lulled into thinking our work is over. In fact, it's only just begun. The radical left is relentless in their pursuit to remake America in the image of every socialist hellscape of the last century," Bessent told the crowd in Texas.
