0939 GMT - The recent rise in long-term U.S. Treasury yields isn't a cause for concern but the debt situation is becoming increasingly unsustainable, DNB Asset Management's Ingvild Borgen says in a note. DNB attributes the rise in yields to a combination of strong economic growth, sharp increase in the supply of highly-rated long-term bonds, greater uncertainty regarding inflation and a normalization of term premiums. "However, it is undeniable that the debt situation in the U.S. appears increasingly unsustainable," the portfolio manager says.
