0255 GMT - The Singapore dollar is steady against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian session ahead of U.S. consumer inflation data due later Friday. The data will be the final key inflation reading before the Fed policy meeting next week and "could prove pivotal in shaping expectations for a rate hike," UOB's Global Economics & Markets Research team says in a report. "Investors will look closely at both headline and core inflation measures for signs of whether underlying price pressures are continuing to ease or being reignited by the recent surge in energy prices," the team adds. The U.S. dollar is little changed at S$1.2681.
